Anahola Beach Park Camping

Experience the joys of Beach Camping on Kauai

There are some beautiful campgrounds dispersed throughout the island of Kauai, but few are as stunning as Anahola Beach Park camping. A county beach park, akin to others, and campers can set up their tents on the lawn on a first come, first serve basis after park guests are leaving in the evening. Additionally, visitors can take advantage of all that Anahola Beach Park has to offer.

What to expect at Anahola Beach Park

The true highlight Anahola Beach Park Camping is getting a site close to the edges of the lawn just a few feet above the water. This is much easier to do if you arrive early or come during slower seasons. Its a sort of controlled anarchy when the daytime visitors are leaving and evening visitors are arriving.

Everyone camping here must adhere to the County of Kauai’s camping regulations, which prohibit hammocks and vehicles. However, cars may park in one of several parking lots. People vying for the best places cant just park right next to them.

The cost is one of the best aspects of camping at Anahola Beach Park. Campers must get a permit from the county. Non-residents can purchase these permits for $3 per person per night. Although there is an online link for acquiring a camping permit here (https://www.kauai.gov/camping), we advise calling the county offices instead because they were incredibly helpful in making the site’s navigation much simpler.

Advantages of Anahola Beach Park Camping

The camping area offers flush toilets, cold showers, and picnic tables and perhaps one of the most beautiful showers you’ve ever had on the island. This park offers a spacious beach, a nice swimming area, and snorkeling is possible in some spots. It is remote, and the road leading to the shore is made of dirt. Definitely a family beach for the locals. This is a fantastic choice if you don’t want a beach overrun with tourists.

It isn’t all sunshine and roses at the beach park. At times during the night, vehicles can circulate in and out of the park’s gravel parking lot driveway. If you’ve ever heard cars driving on gravel you know this sound. The shifting patterns of vehicles lining the road can be a bit unusual and unsettling. It is important to note the parking spaces are not paved.Apart from this, the place is fantastic.

This beach’s pictures do not give it enough credit. Although the beach has nice white sand, palm palms, and a variety of swimming and snorkeling opportunities at various levels, the main draw is the stunning backdrop that displaying the close-by majestic mountains of Kauai.

You’ll find adorable little crabs scurrying across the sand and into their holes in the clean water. Beautiful vistas can be seen, and the palm-tree lined beach is tranquil. The beach wont wow you with its size, there isn’t much space to spread out towels on the sand, but there is grass that can be used instead.

There is a lifeguard station and Kukuihale Road can be used to reach the campground. Every Thursday starting at 10 AM, the campground closes to the public until it reopens the subsequent day at noon for upkeep. See the campsite regulations for Kauai County for further details.
